About the course

The content is based on the authentic Aqeedah (creed) of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah and covers a wide knowledge range. The course prioritises the Qur’aan and Sunnah, as taught by the early scholars of Islam, and is intended to produce individuals schooled in the five key fundamental sciences of our Deen: Qur’anic Sciences, Hadeeth Sciences, Jurisprudential Sciences, Islamic Creed & Philosophy, Spiritual Sciences & Purification of the Heart, and intensive Arabic Language.

Format: In-class and live webinar classes.

Course Duration: 3 years from 2020 to 2022.

The course spans over 3 years, with each year divided into 2 semesters.

  • Saturdays: 11:00 to 16:00 (in-class)
  • Sundays: 9:00 to 12:30 (in-class) 
  • Mondays: 20:00 to 21:00 (live webinar).

Entry Requirements

  1. It is advisable to have a strong niyyah (intention) and sincerity to undertake the Usool-ud-Deen course till completion.
  2. Adults (both men and women, above 18 years old).
  3. Commitment to embark on preaching and sharing the acquired knowledge with the Muslim Ummah after the course.
  4. Essential English and French language comprehension (SC level).
  5. Ability to read the Qur’aan.
  6. Basic computer skills: MS Office, internet, etc.

  • Assessment is carried out through exams and assignments.
  • Class attendance also counts towards the final grade.
  • At the end of the three-year course, each student who has fulfilled all the course requirements (attendance, assignments, exams, etc) will receive a Certificate of Completion of Usool-ud-Deen Foundation course.

  • Is this course really free?

    Completely free. There are absolutely no costs to attending this course because we believe Islamic Education should be free. You are most welcomed to come volunteer at QA!

  • What are the time commitments for attending this course?

    This course is an intensive part-time course, requiring considerable self-study. Students are expected to commit around 8 hours per week to class sessions. Attendance is recorded and counts towards your final results, together with your assignment and exam marks.

  • Should I attend all the sessions in-class?

    All weekend sessions are delivered in class, face-to-face with our teachers. Monday sessions (after Swalaat-ul-'Isha) are delivered via our webinar platform, which you can attend from home.

  • Are course materials provided?

    Yes. Hard copies of all class materials are provided, in the form of handouts, notes compilations or books. Additionally, all class materials as well as class recordings are made available to students on our learning management platform, Moodle, accessible on all devices.
